By plane

Logan International Airport [1] it is east of the center, at a distance of about 7 km.

Alitalia operates flights from Rome-Fiumicino.

Control Tower at Logan Airport

Silver Line (SL1) is a bus line operated by the Transport Company MBTA which from the airport ends at South Station after making several intermediate stops. It runs from 05:38 until 00:45. Stops at all Airport Terminals.

The blue line of the metro stops at the airport. Shuttle buses (Massport shuttle bus) run between the various airport terminals and the metro station. The service is free.

Events and parties

  • Patriots' Day. It commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord, the first to be fought during the American Revolutionary War. Occurs every third Monday in April. In conjunction with Patriots' Day, the Boston Marathon takes place, the finish line of which is near the Boston Public Library.
