Bourbonne-les-Bains is a small seaside resort in French Department Haute-Marne in the region Grand Est.

background

Bourbonne-les-Bains is the only thermal bath in the Haute-Marne department. The bath above the Apance river with its warm radioactive springs was already known in Roman times and reached its peak from the 16th to the 18th century; a military hospital was set up under King Louis XIV. The place name is derived from the Gallic god Borvo.
