Domus Municipalis.
The city is nice and there is a good museum on the main street, but Braganza's fame lies in the Cidadela, practically a separate town above the city and with a marked medieval flavor. There are three specific places here:
- Torre de Menagem - the massive keep of a castle that belonged to the Dukes of Braganza, the last of the Portuguese royal family, but not their main residence, which was in Guimarães.
- Domus Municipalis - a secular pentagonal construction - probably an 11th century council chamber.
- A cross preaching the rise of the back of a prehistoric pig outside the castle.
