Bremen is an autonomous Parliamentary Republic in Northern Germany consisting of two municipalities: Bremen (the capital) and Bremerhaven, on the North Sea. The current state of Bremen, which was reconstituted in 1947, is one of the sixteen states that make up the Federal Republic of Germany.
