By Wall (Chinese: 凭祥市, Pinyin: Pingxiang, pinyin: Píngxiáng Shì; Zhuang: Bingzsiengz Si), is a sub-colonial-level city in the Chongzu region-level city of the Zhuang Autonomous Region. Guangxi, China. This city is adjacent to Cao Loc district, Lang Son province of Vietnam, has an area of 650 km², population in 2011 is 180,000 people. A morning train departs Nanning at 07:58 and arrives in Pingxiang at 11:40 AM. On the return trip, the train leaves Pingxiang at 14:40 and arrives in Nanning at 18:36. ¥30 one way.
It is also possible to take the train from Guangzhou to Pingxiang. The train from Nanning to Hanoi, Vietnam via Pingxiang is set to start again.
By bus
New bus stations in Nanning have regular buses to Pingxiang. The trip lasts about 3 hours and costs 62 including 2¥ insurance.
Overnight bus from Guangzhou to Pingxiang fare 200 yuan. The bus trip takes about 12 hours, the buses will not have seats, instead they will provide beds for visitors. Do be careful with your posts while sleeping on the bus, a few incidents involve travelers losing their valuables while sleeping on the bus.
Go to Vietnam
Many motorized wagons (such as a cart pulled by one engine) take visitors to the border.
From the bus stop, the trip should cost 20 yuan, but bargaining can get the price of 15 yuan.
From Pingxiang's train station take a bus/taxi/tuk-tuk to the border. The cheapest option is 2¥ while the taxi costs 10-20 yuan. The trip takes about 15 minutes.
