Background
It is believed that the first human settlements in southern Baja date back to 14,000 years ago. The first European settlers, upon their arrival in the area found some nomads of the gods tribe Pericúes or Pericù who lived in the Neolithic style.
Until the mid-1800s the inhabitants did not exceed twenty, urban development only took place later. Since 1974, the national government has invested heavily in building infrastructure to serve the Los Cabos tourist district, making it one of the most renowned seaside resorts in Mexico.
