Built from 1811, with a total length of 360,400 km, as the name suggests Nantes to Brest canal connects Nantes to Brest

Understand

Formerly used for merchant navigation, the canal is now mainly used for tourist navigation. The towpath also allows walking, horseback riding, cycling ...

Since the construction of the dam Guerlédan, navigation is limited from Nantes to Pontivy, and from Carhaix to the sea. Walkers or cyclists can, for their part, follow it entirely thanks to the towpaths.
