Casini is a fraction of the municipality of Rufina in the province of Florence.

Located along the Sieve river.
Background
Founded by Count Casini (whose coat of arms was very similar to that of the Medici), the village was shaken in 1919 by a terrible earthquake that struck the whole area of Valdisieve and Mugello, causing several victims and various damages.
Due to its proximity to the Sieve river it has been the victim of several floods in the past, such as the historical one of 1966.
