Position

The city is located on the Uda at the mouth of the Zergeleju, 165 km east of Ulan-Ude and 365 km west of Do you. Chorinsk is surrounded by forested hills and backwaters of the Uda River.

History

Chorinsk was created as a result of the merger of two villages Pride and Bazaar. In the first half of the 18th century, the name of the place was taken Nikolski's settlementwhich combined with The bazaar took the official name Nikolskoye. In 1917 the village was renamed to Dudo-Aninskoye.

After the creation of the Chorin region (1923), the administrative center of the new unit was moved on February 4, 1926 from the temporary headquarters in Kulsk to Dudo-Aniskojewhich has been renamed to Chorinsk. In the spring of 1941, the bridge over the Uda was put into use, reducing the travel time to the capital.

On March 20, 1973, Chorinsk received the status of a city-type estate. November 15, 1990 returned to the status of a village.

Climate
