Chum Phae (Thai: ชุมแพ; also Chumpae written) is a city in the Thai province Khon Kaen.
getting there
Bus:
- Chum Phae is on the long-distance bus route Khon Kaen–Lom Sak–Phitsanulokwho have favourited five times a day from Sombattour and once a day from Phetprasert is served. It takes a good 1½ hours from Khon Kaen, less than two hours from Lom Sak and around four hours from Phitsanulok.
- Bangkok - Driving time approx. 6-8 hours (unclear whether there are still direct connections to / from Bangkok; if necessary, you have to change trains in Khon Kaen)

As a rule, you move around town by tuk-tuk or on foot. There are no taxis in Chum Phae.
Tourist Attractions
- There are a number of wats (Buddhist temples) in the village that are worth visiting.
- Historical city of Non Mueang (Non Mueang Ancient Town; เมือง โบราณ โนน เมือง). Archaeological site with ruins of an old city from the Dvaravati era (7th to 11th centuries AD). 3 km south of the center of Chum Phae.
