Churwalden is a municipality in the Churwaldnertal in the Swiss canton Grisons. The place is 8 km south of the canton capital Chur on the pass way to Lenzerheide

In 2010 the municipalities of Churwalden, Malix and Parpan merged to form today's municipality of Churwalden.
Churwalden forms together with Lenzerheide and Valbella, both districts of the municipality of Vaz, are a ski association area in winter.

The nearest international airport is the airport Zurich.
By train
The next train station is in Chur, then continue with the post bus.
By bus
There is an hourly connection with the postbus on the line Chur–Lenzerheide, which partly continues to Bivio–St. Moritz or after Davos moves. The Passugg part of the municipality is on the Chur–Tschiertschen and Meiersboden is served by the Chur city bus.

Tourist Attractions
- The former Premonstratensian monastery church St. Mary and Michael is now a Catholic parish church. The late Gothic church was built at the end of the 15th century after the fire of its Romanesque predecessor in 1472. The nave and choir are separated by a rood screen and the winged altar from 1477 comes from southern Germany.
- The reformed Village church from 1968 is a modern sacred building
- The building of the District school Churwalden with the gym was designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.

The snow sports areas Pradaschier and Alp Stätz can be reached quickly. Churwalden is also part of the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area.
There are also cross-country ski trails, a natural ice rink and groomed winter hiking trails.

- The longest toboggan run on rails, length 3.1 km, goes from Pradaschier to Churwalden and is in operation all year round.
