It is the third largest city in the country in terms of population and borders on the castles (equivalent of the Italian municipalities) of Living Water, Borgo Maggiore, Florentine is Chiesanuova and with the Italian municipality of San Leo.
Background
According to legend, the City of San Marino was born in 301 by the will of San Marino deacon.
Thanks to some battles won against the Malatesta family, from 1295 to 1463 it conquered the territories it still has today.
