The air Line Condor is a German holiday airline. Condor flies to numerous international destinations.

history

Condor or Condor Flugdienst GmbH is a German airline based in Frankfurt (Main). Primarily a charter airline, sales also take place in the single seat business; Tickets for many flights can therefore also be booked directly with the airline. In addition to Mediterranean summer destinations, long-haul flights are also offered. Via the Thomas Cook Airline Group, Condor is a subsidiary of the British listed tourism group Thomas Cook Group. After the insolvency of the Thomas Cook Group in 2019, Condor was able to maintain flight operations thanks to a state bridging loan.

Every year over 6 million passengers fly with Condor to around 75 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.

The company's history begins in 1955 when four companies, Norddeutscher Lloyd, Hamburg-Amerika-Linie, Deutsche Lufthansa and Deutsche Bundesbahn founded "Deutsche Flugdienst GmbH". Over the years Condor has developed into a well-known holiday airline.

fleet

Around 1955 three twin-engine propeller aircraft of the type Vickers Viking were in service. Over the years, other models of the Boeing 707, 727, 737 and 747 series were operated, as well as some Airbus A300 and A310. With the beginning of the 1990s these were replaced by newer and more efficient Boeing 757 and 767. The Douglas DC-10, which had been in operation since the 1980s, also left the Condor at the beginning of the third millennium. Modern Airbus A320 planes joined in to support the Boeings.

In January 2013 Condor operated 38 aircraft. These include 12 Airbus A320s, one Airbus A321, 13 Boeing 757-300s and 12 Boeing 767-300s. The average age of the entire fleet is around 15 years.

All Condor aircraft have an audio and video entertainment system. In addition, some aircraft are equipped with an external camera under the nose wheel, which broadcasts take-off and landing live on the screens in the cabin.
