Copacabana (Bolivia) is a city in Altiplano in Bolivia.

There is not only one famous Copacabana in Brazil, but several places with this name in South America. Supposedly it comes from the Aymara language and means roughly Lake viewwhat for the Copacabana in the region La Paz sure applies.
The city has around 8,000 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 3810 m on Lake Titicaca on the road from Puno to La Paz, not far from the Peruvian border. From here boats go to the sunny island Isla del Sol.
