Courseulles-sur-Mer is a commune in the département Calvados in the French region Normandy, it lies at the mouth of the Seulles in the English Channel.

Before World War II it was Courseulles a fishing village on the Cote de Nacre , Mother-of-pearl coast. This tourist name was probably chosen because of the numerous oyster beds, they were an important economic factor on the Norman coast. Due to the Second World War and the landings of the Allies, this stretch of coast is now called Juno Beach designated. The place has been called since 1957 Courseulles-sur-Mer.
