Sculpture: Hagenverwürger fountain
- In Deißlingen as well as in the surrounding villages, the Swabian-Alemannic Carnival has an important place in community life. Last but not least, this serves to deal with local events. This is what the Deißlinger fools guild calls itself Hagen shrike. A Hage is a breeding bull in the local dialect. When a young bull was supposed to be provided with a nose ring in 1910, several men held him so tight with a rope around his neck that the animal suffocated. The fools guild of the Lauffen district refers to the extremely low-iodine drinking water of the place, which gave the residents enlarged thyroid glands. Hence the carnival figure of the Lofiner crookers.
