Landscape in the Baar (view from Wartenberg)
The region Baar lies between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb. Both the Danube and the Neckar have their source in this region.
Regions
It is divided into the following sub-areas: Baarhochmulde (natural area Baar in the true sense), Baarschwarzwald, Baaralb and Wutachland. Both geologically and politically, the Baar lies between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb, and the Baar holiday region has recently been based mainly on the Black Forest. The Baaralb is together with the Hegau-Alb dem Donaubergland assigned.

mobility
- The Hohenzollerische Landesbahn (HzL) operates the "3er-Ringzug", which runs the three districts Tuttlingen, Rottweil and Black Forest Baar connects with each other.
- A specialty of the region are On-call buses. They travel according to the regular schedule and stop at the usual stops - but only if you book in good time by calling at least 60 minutes before the start of your journey! At late hours and especially in villages, the bus timetables should therefore be read very carefully.
