Dettenheim

Dettenheim is a community in the Baden Rhine Plain, it consists of the districts Liedolsheim and Russheim and lies in the Northern Hardt.

Dettenheim was first mentioned in a document in 788. The place was not far from the Rhine and was repeatedly flooded by floods. In 1813 the residents left the village and founded the place near Altenbürg Castle Karlsdorf. From the former village 1 Old Dettenheim there are still a few remains to be found.

When in 1975 the formerly independent municipalities were reformed during a municipal reform Liedolsheim and Russheim were united, the name was chosen for the newly formed congregation Dettenheim.
