Hundstein from the east
- Tour to the Hundstein - There are numerous tour options around Dienten. A beautiful tour destination that requires stamina but is technically not too difficult is the 2,111 m high Hundstein. From the summit there is a panoramic view up to the Hohe Tauern. As the walking time from Dienten to the summit about 5½ - 6 hours it is a good idea to spend the night on the mountain. Directly on the summit is the Statzerhaus, a small mountain hut belonging to the Austrian Tourist Club with 6 beds and 27 mattress beds. The house is open from Pentecost to mid-October (for more see hut information on the Website of the Austrian Tourist Club. With an overnight stay you can also enjoy the sunset or sunrise up here.
