- 1 Tatacoa Desert (Desierto de la Tatacoa) - With an area of about 300 km², the Tatacoa desert is the largest arid zone in the Colombia, after the peninsula of La Guajira. His surrealist landscapes are dominated by colors ranging from ocher in the Cuzco area to gray with brushstrokes of green in the Los Hoyos area. The desert is about 38 km from the capital and mostly falls within the territory of the municipality of Villavieja. Tatacoa is a destination for tourists who dedicate themselves to observing the stars of the Milky Way that appears in all its splendor on moonless nights.
