Domaniewice (Łódź Voivodeship) - Domaniewice (województwo łódzkie)

Domaniewice - a large commune village in Poland in voivodeship of Lodz, in Lowicz poviat, in the Domaniewice commune, on the Kalinówka river on the route ŁódźLowicz.
In the years 1975–1998, the town administratively belonged to the Skierniewice Province.

Communication

Domaniewice is situated on the route Mainly - Łowicz, national road No. 14. Bus connections are served by PKS and private carriers.
The village is also situated on the railway line No. 15.
North-west of the village (in the town of Krępa) there is Domaniewice railway station, which is currently closed for passenger traffic. As part of the Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna project, it is planned in the future to restore passenger traffic at this Domaniewice station and to build a new Domaniewice Centrum - railway stop (the railway line is already open and stops are open).

History

The first settlement already in ancient times - it would result from the pagan cemetery discovered here.
Archbishop Jarosław Skotnicki in 1357 founded the village under German law.

Historic Celest Chapel

It stands on the edge of the village Celesta chapel pw. The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in the years 1631-1633 from the foundation of Jakub and Wojciech Celest, who came from here (or rather nearby Chatolin), Krakow burghers, merchants. Early Baroque, facing south. west, on a square-like plan, with an apse closed in a semicircle. Covered with an elliptical dome on sails, topped with a round lantern. Four early baroque marble portals. Equipment from the 18th century. In the main altar there is a miraculous painting "St. The family of the Northern Italian school from the beginning of 17th century of great artistic value. In the choir, an organ from 1765, seven-voice, with a Rococo prospectus in the form of a Polish eagle with a crown with spread wings, decorated with carvings and gilded. The game mechanism and the sound apparatus are mostly antique. A tripartite arrangement of prospect pipes imitating the wings and filling the hull of an eagle. At the base of the brochure there are ornaments with "rocaile" motifs, forming a kind of console, masking the lower part of the wardrobe. The baroque chapel serves as a Marian sanctuary (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Domaniewice, the Comforter of the Afflicted). Indulgence on September 8.
