Ebensee is a community in Upper Austria, she lies in Salzkammergut on the southern bank of the Traunsee.

The Salzkammergut Soleweg starts at Hallstatt and passes over a distance of 40 km Bad Goisern, Bad Ischl and Langwies to Ebensee. This path follows one Brine line, which was built from 13,000 hollowed-out tree trunks inserted into one another from 1597 and went into operation from 1607. It is therefore the oldest still active pipeline.
