background

The place is called Just as well Mentioned in a document in 1284. The name refers to the glass production. He should be on a so-called Level hut go back. In a level hut, glass tubes that are still warm (i.e. that can be processed directly) are processed into flat glass. Numerous glassworks were located in the greater area. However, the glass industry perished in the 17th century as a result of war and plague. The hamlet was a very poor area and from 1823 belonged to Welzheim, it became Welzheim parish. Ebni now belongs to the municipality of Kaisersbach.

A riverside path leads around the lake. Benches invite you to linger. There are plenty of sunbathing lawns on the lake for bathers. The water is cloudy and is regularly checked for pollutants. A corresponding report is hanging out. Even in midsummer, the lake offers a pleasant climate thanks to the surrounding forest. There is a relatively shallow bathing area for children at the end of the lake. At its deepest point, the lake is 4.75 meters deep. Several barbecue facilities are distributed around the lake. A popular destination for swimmers are two small islands in the lake, one overgrown and one wooden platform. Several stairs, some with handrails, make it easier for bathers to access the water.

Gall Grotto

Gall Grotto. The Gall Grotto is a natural grotto in a small valley. Large stones form a small grotto. This is a wonderful play area for children. From the parking lot you walk past the inn and the pedal boats. At the end of the lake, do not follow the path along the shore, but go straight ahead. Passing a house, it goes into the forest. A sign points to the right. Walking time from the parking lot about 20 minutes.

Wieslauftal

Wieslauftal.jpg

The Wieslauftal after the Ebnisee follows the Wieslauf. You can follow the Wieslauf to Laufenmühle on foot or on foot. The path is also suitable for wheelchair users. The path is also ideal for children to cycle, as it only has a moderate gradient. Advanced cyclists follow the Wieslauf to Rudersberg or further to Schorndorf.

Running mill

  • 2  Running mill. The Laufenmühle can be reached by car via Welzheim or Rudersberg. Only a tarred forest path leads from Ebnisee to Laufenmühle. This is blocked for motor vehicles. There is an anthroposophical curative educational facility at the Laufenmühle.

Since 2007 you can collect a variety of impressions of nature in the experience park. This is particularly useful for children aged 3 to 8 years. The experience park is chargeable and not exactly cheap at prices of 3.50 EUR for children and 4.50 EUR for adults.

For the adults and of course also for the children there is a cafe with an outdoor terrace. Since April 2008 it has been expanded as a restaurant. Organic dishes and drinks are offered. But you can also buy organic ice cream to take away.

Limes watchtower

The dilapidated Limes watchtower is located directly on the connecting road between Welzheim and Murrhardt. Only the foundation walls of the tower are visible. The watchtower can be reached on foot by walking from the parking lot next to the inn. At the end of the lake, do not follow the path along the shore, but go straight ahead. After about 50 meters a trail leads to the right. The path leads through the forest up the slope. After about 20 minutes you will reach the street. The tower is across the street.

Strümpfelbachtal

The Strümpfelbachtal lies between Althütte and Ebni. This path is a wonderful adventure trail for children. In the particularly difficult terrain, wooden plank paths were laid out with loving care. So the path can also be walked after it rains. However, good footwear is definitely recommended. The path is not suitable for cyclists!

You can park at the parking lot between Althütte and Ebni. The path starts right at the parking lot and leads along the Strümpfelbach to the Nonnenmühle. Unfortunately, this excursion restaurant burned down and only the remains of the fire can be seen. Turn right off the street. Right at the beginning you can reach an old waterworks over a small bridge. Now you follow the stream over bridges and partly over wooden plank paths. If you don't want to go back the same way, you come back to the Nonnenmühle via the upper Strümpfelbachtal. The way is not very far, so that it can be mastered with children from 3 years without any problems. In summer, daredevils run barefoot along the stream. Hikers can follow the tour along the Strümpfelbach to Klaffenbach. In Klaffenbach you cross the main street and walk along Bachstraße. At the end of the village you turn left. At the last house it goes up the slope into the forest. In the forest you walk to the left towards Laufenmühle. From the Laufenmühle along the Wieslauftal to the Ebissee. On the riverside path, leave the lake on the right and hike to Ebni. From Ebni you can either reach the parking lot directly along the road or walk back via Voggenhof.
