Info
The Eemland is an open meadow area where, nevertheless, traditionally relatively few farms can be found. This is due to the flood proneness of the area. The farms that exist are often located in villages or along dikes, often at considerable distances from their land.
In the west, the Eemland borders on the throw, in the southwest on the Utrecht Hill Ridge and in the north on the Eemmeer. The Eemland is part of the Gelderland Valley and forms the western part of it. In contrast to the wooded Utrechtse Heuvelrug, the Eemland consists of a vast lowland with flat polders.
