A free elevated train runs between the North and South Terminals and takes about two minutes to travel between the terminals. The departure points are sparingly signposted and the platform on the first floor is difficult to recognize as such (see picture). When the train arrives, automatic doors in the wall open to allow disembarkation on the outside and then boarding from the center aisle.

There are special facilities for passengers switching from one flight to another in Gatwick. Precise instructions for the fastest connections between two flights can be found on the airport website [1]. The airport operator recommends planning at least 1½ hours for transfer connections.
