London Stansted Airport

The London Stansted Airport, English: London Stansted Airport, is the third largest airport Great Britain. It is located northeast of London, about 50 kilometers from the city center.

background

London Stansted Airport was originally designed as an air force base and has served as a civilian airport since 1966. With 23.6 million passengers per year, it is the third largest airport in the UK after Heathrow and Gatwick. For a long time Stansted was used exclusively by charter airlines. Only after a complete renovation at the end of the 1980s and the settlement of the low-cost carriers Easyjet and Ryanair did the airport grow significantly. Stansted is now the largest European hub for low-cost carriers, but increasingly other airlines are also offering routes from Stansted, for example to the USA.

It is tempted with fares from £ 2, but as usual with the Easy company, the fare varies considerably and depends on various parameters such as demand, early booking, etc. The stop in London is at the bus station Victoria Station, about five minutes' walk from the central station concourse.

In the street

taxi

The taxi rank is right in front of the terminal. The travel time to London is approximately 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the traffic situation. As taxis take a long time to get to the city center and are relatively expensive, they are only recommended for trips to the immediate vicinity of the airport.
