There are no big and noisy moving trucks to be seen, but numerous creepy figures from the fool's guilds from the area determine the goings-on. For several years now, Memmingen has been the second Bavarian carnival stronghold next to the Franconian one Veitshochheim designated. The reason for this is the Bavarian-Swabian ceremonial meeting "Swabian Weissblau - Hurra und Helau", which is organized and recorded every year by the Bavarian television in the town hall of Memmingen. The end of the carnival season is the foolish Kehrhaus on Mardi Gras. The traditional professional event with dance performances ends punctually for curfew at midnight, when the carnival is symbolically buried.
