The Memmingen Airport, international: Memmingen Airport , is the smallest commercial airport in Bavaria. It is located 4.5 km southeast of Memmingen. Although it is about 100 km from Munich, it is considered a cheaper alternative to Munich Airport.

The airport was a military airfield until 2003. Regular flight operations have been in place since June 2007.
Arrival and departure
By train
The airport does not have its own train station. The nearest train station (and bus station) Memmingen is approx. 4 km away and can be reached by bus or taxi:

By bus
- City bus line 2 and regional transport line 810/811 go from the airport to Memmingen train station, which is about four kilometers away: Die Bus timetables are not coordinated with the flight plan, so that you may have to accept considerable waiting times. Furthermore, the single ticket costs 3 € (January 2018). The city buses are also often late, some connections on this route, especially for the weekend, are set up as "call-collective-taxi". However, this can only be done during normal office hours (Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), which is unfriendly to the customer, so that no flexibility is possible in the event of delays.
- A local taxi company takes minibuses (eight-seater) between the airport and the train station and picks up individual travelers. Costs 3 euros per person.
- The Allgäu Airport Express runs regularly seven days a week to the cities of Munich, Zurich and St. Gallen as well as Dornbirn. The timetable for buses to Munich is on the flight schedule from Ryanair Voted. It should be noted that for flights to Tel Aviv should be at the airport two hours earlier. Unfortunately, this is not possible with the AAE.
- Coordinated with the flight times of the Wizzair to Kiev offers Bus and Fly a bus shuttle from Munich, Ingolstadt, Nuremberg, Erlangen and Bamberg.

Scheduled flights are mainly used by the low-cost airlines Ryanair and Wizz Air carried out. There are also seasonal destinations in charter traffic.
