Dresden Airport - Flughafen Dresden

Dresden Airport

The Dresden Airport, international: Dresden Airport, is the international airport of the Dresden region. It is located 9 km north of the city center in the Klotzsche district and is therefore also called Dresden-Klotzsche Airport known.

background

The international airport Dresden Klotzsche currently handles around 1.8 million passengers a year. A large part of this is accounted for by charter planes to hot water destinations in the summer season. Domestic flights from Lufthansa and Eurowings are predominantly offered in scheduled services. In the meantime, some connections to European destinations have also been established.

Some of the flight movements are also generated by the neighboring Elbe Flugzeugwerke, which, among other things, carry out repair work and modifications to aircraft for Airbus - for this it is even necessary that DRS can handle an A380, which occasionally happens when a customer wants a new interior - or in the course of the Covid crisis wants to convert the passenger compartment to make it "suitable for freight".
