The Friedrichshafen Airport, international: Friedrichshafen Airport, is also under the name Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen known. It is 3 kilometers northeast of Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance, right next to the exhibition center.

The airport in Friedrichshafen was originally built for the construction of the zeppelin shortly after the First World War. After the war, a large French military base was built here, which was converted into a civil airport in 1994 after the French withdrew.
Today Friedrichshafen is one of the smallest commercial airports in Germany. In addition to the usual holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, there are also domestic German flights to Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, due to the very poor connection between Lake Constance and domestic German rail traffic.

The airport has its own stop on the Ulm – Friedrichshafen railway line, which is served by the Bodensee-Oberschwaben-Bahn (BOB). It has a direct rail connection with Ulm, Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen.
