Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden airport

The Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden airport, from the operator too Baden Airpark called, is near the place Rheinmünster, 35 km southwest of Karlsruhe and 12 km west of Baden-Baden, near the French border.

Until 1994 the site was the Canadian Airbase Söllingen. On May 17, 1997, the first charter flight took off from Baden Airport, destination was Palma de Mallorca. In the meantime the company was renamed and expanded. Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH became the majority owner of the airport, which is now known as Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport (FKB). In April 2001 the first flight from the "new" airport and in 2008 one million passengers were handled.

Arrival and departure

By train

The airport does not have its own train station. The closest train station is the Baden-Baden ICE train station. From there, a bus goes directly to the terminal about every hour (see below). Alternatively, the Rastatt (distance to the airport approx. 14 kilometers) or Karlsruhe (distance approx. 44 kilometers) train stations can be used: Travelers with rail-to-fly tickets please note that this ticket is only available to the train station, but not for you can continue your journey by bus to the airport.

By bus

  • Bus line 205 connects Baden-Baden train station with the airport. The bus runs every hour on weekdays, less frequently on weekends and in the off-peak hours. The journey time is around 25 minutes. Baden-Baden Airport Terminal train station

In the street

There are airports that are located on motorways, can be reached with multi-lane highways without crossing and there is the Baden-Airpark. There it goes on country roads through Baden villages, past the Ganterwirt and the Schmiderer car garage.   • From the north: Via the motorway A5 Karlsruhe / Basel until departure Symbol: AS 51 Baden-Baden towards Iffezheim on the B500. The Baden Airpark is signposted there.
  • From the south: Via the motorway A5 Basel / Karlsruhe until departure Symbol: AS 51 Baden-Baden, towards Iffezheim on the B500. The Baden Airpark is signposted there. The airport is already signposted at the Bühl exit on the autobahn and you are guided from there on country roads via Schwarzach and Söllingen. Compared to the variant mentioned above, this is a detour of a few km.
  • From the west (France): On the motorway A35 until the exit Symbol: AS 56 Roppenheim. After crossing the border, turn right at the next set of traffic lights. The Baden Airpark is signposted there.
