Fremantle is a city in Western Australia, it is in the greater area Perth at the mouth of the Swan River in the Indian Ocean.

background

Fremantle, also Freo called, like neighboring Perth, was founded in 1829 as part of the British Swan River colony. The city developed into the most important port in Western Australia. In the deep-sea port on the west coast, bulk goods such as iron ore, aluminum, grain and petroleum products are mainly handled. The Inner Harbor is located in the estuary of the Swan River, here mainly containers are shipped, among other things motor vehicles and all kinds of goods from Far Eastern countries are imported. Cattle and sheep on floating cattle trucks are also exported, especially to Arab countries.
