background

language

In addition to Romanian, Russian and Little Russian, Gagauz Turkish, for which the Turkish-Latin alphabet has been expanded to include the letters ä and ţ, is spoken. The existence of a culture of immigrants shaped by a separate language during the Ottoman Empire is the reason for the region's cultural autonomy, which has existed since 2014.
