It is a post-glacial channel lake, the largest in the Eylauer Seenplatte. The lake has numerous bays, islands and peninsulas. The river flows through the lake Eylenz, one of the most popular canoe routes in Warmia-Masuria. The route leads through several lakes to the Drewenzwhere to continue the canoe tour. The lake is connected to the by a feeder channel Oberland Canal connected.
