Lake Jasne

The Eylauer Seenplatte (Polish Pojezierze Iławskie) is part of the Ice Age South Baltic Lake Districts and lies in the northeast Poland, on the border to Russia (Kaliningrad Oblast). It becomes the historical regions Warmia and Oberland expected. The region is located in the west of the voivodeship Warmia-Masuria, a small part also in Pomerania and Kuyavian Pomeranian. It borders on the lower in the west Vistula valley, in the north of that DanzigCoastal land, in the east to the Masurian Lake District and in the south to the Kulm-Dobrin Lake District. The Drewenz, Passarge and Ossa have their origin in the lake district. The Oberland Canal connects numerous lakes with the Fresh lagoon.

The area is quite densely populated, there are many smaller towns. Nevertheless, the landscape is natural.

From ancient times, Polish, Baltic, German and Jewish influences mixed in the area. However, there was hardly any industry or large settlements here. The only economic factor in the region was the timber industry and fishing.

The numerous moraine hills are lower here than in Masuria. However, the Oberland is higher.
