The Polish Lake Districts (Polish Pojezierza Polskie) lies to the north and west Poland, the area of which they occupy more than a fifth. The region extends over seven voivodships is part of West Pomerania, Pomerania, Warmia-Masuria, Podlaskie, Lebus, Greater Poland and Kuyavian Pomeranian. After Finland, Poland has the highest lake density in Europe with thousands of glacial lakes in varied moraine landscapes. The largest, deepest and most beautiful lakes are located in north-eastern Poland.
Regions
Traditionally, the Polish Lake Districts are divided into the South Baltic Lake Districts and the East Baltic Lake Districts.
