What see

  • 1 Parish church of Saints Ippolito and Cassiano. The parish church, which dates back to the 11th century, has a commissa cross plan (T-cross) consisting of a single roofed nave, with a barrel-vaulted transept and ended with a semicircular apse. In the mid-fifteenth century it was enriched by a marble ciborium made by Mino da Fiesole but this together with some works in the transept were the only interventions that the church received so much so that in 1590 on the occasion of the apostolic visit made by the bishop of Florence Alessandro de 'Medici the church still featured the ancient Romanesque altar and a painted cross. Restored in 1967, the church is in a state of semi-neglect with the exception of the canonical complex which is now a hotel.
