There is a fortress called Al-Sifah, overlooking the sea on one side and the valley on the other. The city walls of Muscat in all previous eras they were considered the first line of defense to fortify and protect the city from attackers and enemies, as the city is surrounded by natural rocks that act as natural walls. The presence of other walls surrounded the city from the western and southern sides, which were built in 1625 AD. and on them many circular towers were erected. The northern and eastern side is protected by the Gulf of Muscat on one side and the eastern mountains on the other.

The walls of Muscat include three main entrances or gates: Bab Al-Mathaib, Al-Bab Al-Kabir, and Al-Bab Al-Saghir. The first is located in the western corner, under the Al Mirani Fort, and the second is at the far end of the western side of the walls. It serves as an entrance leading to most of the roads leading to all of Muscat's suburbs and also to the city of Matrah. The third small gate is located in the middle of the south side, and is also considered a main entrance.

There are five in Muscat ancient dwellings: Jarezah al-Sayed Nader and Sayed Abbas bin Faisal. The villages of Al-Jissah, Al-Khairan and Al-Seefah are among the coastal tourist sites with their crystal clear waters and picturesque nature, where the waves and rocks embrace each other in enchanting beauty.

In Khiran beach the lagoons overlap between the mountains erected in the blue sea. The beach in the village of Al-Sifah, southeast of the city of Muscat, is quiet and beautiful, becoming an attraction for many citizens and residents, who come here to camp on weekends and holidays.
