The Gräbendorfer See south of the Spreewaldes between Calau, cottbus and Altdöbern has become a popular destination in the last few years Lusatian border wall moulted. It is a lake of the new Lusatian Lakeland and is characterized by good bathing water quality.

The Gräbendorfer See can be used since 2009. It comes from the former lignite opencast mine of the same name, which was opened up by mining in 1979. From 1984 to 1992 a total of 36 million tons of coal were mined here. The places Laasdorf and Gräbendorf disappeared completely, Laasow and Reddern partially. The lake is now a popular destination with beaches, a beach bar, a floating house and a diving school.

- The three villages can be found in the north Tornitz (Lower Sorbian: Tarnoysk), Briesen, Brodtkowitz (Lower Sorbian: Brodkojce), and Desert grove (Lower Sorbian: Huštań).

- There is a beach on the north-west bank.
- The east bank has received a natural character.
- On the 9.4 km long paved circular path, you can go around the lake by bike, inline skates or on foot.
- The art objects of the action artist Ben Wagin can be viewed near the south bank. This is where the village of Gräbendorf was located, which was completely demolished in 1989.
