Buksnes Church, front
  • The 1 Buksnes-Kirke is a wooden building from 1905. Already in 1324 there was a house of worship, it was destroyed by a storm. The subsequent buildings also fell victim to the storm or fire. Today's church offers space for 600 people, it was built in Drag style, which is characterized by motifs such as dragon heads, snakes and other mystical figures. Such carvings can be found inside on the beams and wooden posts. The front of the outer facade is reminiscent of a stave church.

Practical advice

There are wooden houses at the pier for cruise ships, one of which is an offshoot of the Leknes Tourist Information Office. There are also PCs with an Internet connection here. One house serves as a shop with the usual souvenirs, and bicycles can also be borrowed if they are available. There is a taxi rank just behind the gate to the pier.
