Leknes is a city on the Lofoten.

Leknes is a city with lots of shopping opportunities and an important transport hub on the island of Vestvågøy. Leknes is also sometimes pronounced "Laknes".

getting there

By plane

It is cheaper to travel with the airline's low-cost airline Norwegian to Bodø or Harstad /Narvik. From Bodø you continue by ferry to Stamsund and then by bus to Leknes. From Harstad / Narvik there is a bus (Lofotenexpress) to Leknes.

By boat

It is best to use the shipping line Hurtigruten of Bodø or Svolvær to Stamsund. From there you can take the bus to Leknes.

By train

The closest train stations are Narvik and Bodø. Of Narvik continue by bus (Lofotenexpress), and from Bodø use the ferry.

The Lofoten Express runs from Narvik to Leknes. A drive to Leknes takes about 6 1/2 hours.
