Being located in the middle of the region, the city is mainly served by autovías E-902A-44 who links Jaén to the Mediterranean coast and A-92 connecting Seville at Almeria as well as Murcia.

- 1 Alhambra (Take the C3 bus line to Plaza Isabel la Catolica, price 1,2 €, or on foot through Cuesta de Gomérez Street from Plaza Nueva) 14 €. – A palace complex not to be missed. It is registered with World Heritage. It is strongly recommended to book well in advance as the Alhambra is often full, especially in high season. If you couldn't get a ticket, you can try your luck early in the morning as tickets are allocated for same-day direct sale, but the crowd is high and tickets are often sold out within tens of minutes. Some travel agencies or your hotel can sometimes get you a ticket for the same day or the next day for a 10% surcharge. Please note that European Union nationals aged 65 and over benefit from a reduced rate of 9 € against presentation of an identity document.
