The Łomnica (German: Great Lomnitz) is a 20 km long wild mountain and tributary of the Bober in the southwest Poland in the voivodeship Lower Silesia. It arises in the Giant Mountains on the north face of the Schneekoppe, where they are in the Krkonose National Park forms numerous rapids and waterfalls. Later it flows into the small pond and the reservoir Karpacz.

Run

The Łomnica rises at Karpacz and flows north into the Hirschberg Valley. It ends at Łomnica in the bober. The lower reaches of the mountain river can be traveled by canoe or kayak. As there are numerous rapids, the ride is not easy. The clean and fish-rich river is also appreciated by sport anglers. Kayaking and fishing is only allowed outside the national park. In the national park, hiking trails lead along the Łomnica and its source rivers to the waterfalls. Even the shortest and most arduous hiking trail from Karpacz to the Schneekoppe leads along the mountain river.
