Grofit (Hebrew גְּרוֹפִית) is a kibbutz in the Arava South of Israel.
background
The Kibbutz Grofit, the word stands for sapling or shoot, was founded in 1963 as a Nahal settlement on a hill near the Jordanian border from further south Yotvata founded and recognized as a kibbutz in 1966.
Economically, the kibbitz is based on agriculture (melons, date palms), and in recent years there has been the production of solar energy and tourism.
By plane
Most foreign travelers travel through the Tel Aviv - Ben Gurion at.
