Guadalajara is a city in the region Castile-La Mancha and at the same time the capital of the province Guadalajara.
background
The name of the city probably goes back to the Arabs, they named the place Wad-al-Hayara, Valley of the Stones. It was founded in Roman times, at that time it was under the name Arriaca known.

Panteón de la Duquesa de Sevillano
- 1 Alcazar de Guadalajara. The origins of the royal palace go back to the 9th century. It has only been preserved as a ruin. In front of the walls of the Alcazar.
- 2 Palacio del Infantado in Isabelline-Gothic style, seat of the Dukes of El Infantado
- 3 Convento de San Francisco. Monastery from the 14th century, later converted into a fortification.
- 4 Palacio de Antonio de Mendoza. Built in the 16th century in the Renaissance style, later rebuilt in the neoclassical style.
