Haspengouw is the place for bon vivants. In Tongeren, the oldest city in Belgium, the Roman and medieval past has left a wealth of cultural-historical heritage. You can experience more of this history from 2009 in the Gallo-Roman Museum, which is currently being enlarged. Tongeren also enjoys international fame thanks to its Sunday antiques and flea market, the largest in the Benelux.

Haspengouw was the setting for the television series "Katarakt" in 2007 and has since been very popular with tourists. Especially during the blossom period, many cyclists descend on Limburg. Haspengouw therefore has a large cycle route network that leads tourists past the main sights, or from enjoy the beautiful landscape.
