  • Parc national des Écrins - Écrins National Park is located in the French High Alps on the border with the department Isère. It was founded in 1973 and achieved in Pelvoux massif with the Barre des Écrins 4 102 m height.
  • Regional Natural Park of Queyras - Queyras Regional Natural Park is in the French high Alps on the border to Italy.

The department Hautes-Alpes is a paradise for mountain hikers and mountaineers. It offers something suitable for every taste and every level of fitness, from leisurely (half) day tours to multi-day mountain tours. The highlight is of course the Ecrins massif, which almost exceeds 4000m and is often referred to as the "Karakoram" of the Alps. But also around the reservoir Lac de Serre-Ponçon there are many beautiful tours that offer fantastic far and deep views. West of Gap come on the steep walls of the Céüse climbers at their own expense.
