Heidenreichstein is a city in Waldviertel, the northwestern part of Lower Austria.

By train
By train to Gmuend, continue with the bus.
In the street
By car from Vienna via the B 4 to horn, continue on the B 2 to the Allwangspitz near Göpfritz, from there on the B 5.

Tourist Attractions
- Atmospheric main square.
- 1 Heidenreichstein Castle- Well worth seeing moated castle from 1160, later expanded and rebuilt. The castle was never stormed. The castle is privately owned, that museum can be visited from mid-April to mid-October.

The disused, narrow-gauge railway between Heidenreichstein and Gmuend is owned by a private society operated as a museum railway and offers, among other things, trips with steam trains.
