Hermigua is a village on the island La Gomera.

Hermigua is located in a green valley in the north of Gomera. The place stretches along the valley road for several kilometers. Located right on the sea Santa Catalina. After the confluence of the road from Agulo comes the lower town center El Curato. A little further follows a small city park with sports fields. Shortly afterwards you come to the post office and the police station. Finally, the upper town center follows El Convento.

getting there

From the island's capital and ferry port San Sebastian via the Carretera del Norte (TF 711) about 20 km. The road continues after Agulo and Vallehermoso.

Hermigua stretches for several kilometers along the road, rising 350 meters from the sea. Everything can be reached on foot, but if you want to get from the lowest to the highest part of the village, a car or taxi can be practical.

At the end of Santa Catalina a path leads to the Seawater swimming pool.

  • Past the waterfall to El Cedro. The path continues upwards into the national park, past a small chapel in the laurel forest and finally to the Garajonay (1453 m).
  • From Santa Catalina to Lepe Agulo and on through the red wall to the National Park Information Center.
