The Hofjagdweg leads you in the footsteps of the Prussian court from Königs Wusterhausen to the Spreewald.
!! Danger !! !! Attention !! As of August 2020 until further notice
Due to construction work, there is increased traffic on the Hofjagdweg on the section between the Krummensee exit and Groß Köris entrance. The narrow width of the road does not allow the prescribed minimum distance between the car and the cyclist. We strongly advise against driving the section, especially with children, until further notice!

background
The Hofjagdweg follows the paths of the former hunt at the Prussian royal court. The court hunts reached their heyday, especially during the reign of the soldier king Friedrich Wilhelm I (1713-1740). In Wusterhausen, today's Königs Wusterhausen (named after the Prussian king), hunting was Friedrich Wilhelm I's favorite pastime, along with the legendary tobacco college and spiritual and cultural events, during his at least two months stay in what is now Königs Wusterhausen Palace. The hunting area extended over the surrounding forests, through the Dubrow to the Dahme-Heideseen nature park.

Mostly well-developed and passable cycle paths, asphalt side roads as well as paved and unpaved farm and forest paths. On the section between Krummensee and Groß Köris, the condition of the cycle path is partly very poor. The expansion of this section is open. Alternatively, you can use the from Königs Wusterhausen Dahme cycle path Drive to Märkisch Buchholz / Kaskadenwehr and then continue on the Hofjagdweg to Lübben.
The Hofjagdweg leads across the "Dahme-Seen" region past meadows and fields, through forests and heathland. The starting point of the bike tour is the castle in Königs Wusterhausen, which is particularly worth seeing as the summer residence of the Prussian court. In front of the city gates, it goes through "pure nature" from the Dahme-Heideseen nature park through the Spreewald biological reserve to Lübben with the restored Renaissance castle.
